Question:

What kind of skateboard deck and trucks should I get?

I haven't skated in 5 years (my last board broke and I never got a new one), but I'm just starting up again, so I'd say I'm novice. I'm 5' 6" and my shoe size is about a 9 in women's. I'll be doing street skating mostly, not so much halfpipes and such.

I've already worked out that I'd need a board that's about 7.75" wide and 31-32" long. I've also decided that I'm probably going to buy Ricta wheels (about 49-53 mm) and ABEC 5 bearings (because of their good rep with beginners).

This is what I'm still looking for:

1. Trucks. I've heard that Venture is a good brand to go with because they turn smoothly, but if there is another brand you would recommend to a beginner, I would love to hear it.

2. A deck. I'm looking for a concave with good pop. Please keep in mind that I don't really prefer blank decks.

One more thing: please list prices with what you are recommending to me so I can decide what's within my price range.

Thanks! =]
