I found 6 small frogs or toads (not sure which one) outside of my door to my house. There are no natural water sources nearby...i.e.:lakes, streams, ponds, etc. I am not sure where they came from or whether or not they are toads or frogs. Can anyone explain?

  1. Some species live in seasonal ponds and many toads just go into the water for bug hunting and mating...

I live in the desert Southwest and had a TOAD hop through my living room a week ago and we have no water sources nearby except a seasonal stream a half-mile away.  I had to do a double take.  The critter most likely was after those @#$# June beetles that are everywhere right now.

Most likely the toad came by during a rain storm/long thunderstorm and was just checking your place out.

  2. they are probably toads they can get water from your lawn, but they are a good sign that you have a good eco-system, very healthey for growing flowers and plants, they eat bugs that do them harm. hope this helps!
