I am having a makeup party/foot spa party this weekend. It will be at 2 pm. What kinds of snacks should I serve. There will be about 5 people coming. I was thinking maybe a fruit salad, or something lite since it is fairly early in the day. But I really don't know. I have no idea what to serve as drinks. I went to one last month for a friend, and she served wine and cheese. But it was at 8pm, and I don't want to copy that. This is my first time hosting any type of party!! Any ideas are greatly appreciated!! There might also be a couple kids, but I have my own, and they can play in the bedroom. Maybe some kid friendly snacks too if you have any ideas!! Thank you!!

  1. some fruits...good luck :))

  2. A variety of crackers and humus.

  3. Just get some snack trays from your local grocery place!

They have so many differnt kinds. Everyone will have already had lunch so just something light will work. As for drinks...water works for me :)

  4. Vegetable tray with Blue Cheese for dipping, Cheese tray with crackers, make a punch mix with champagne.  For the kids a vegetable tray just for them.

You will do fine - good luck.

  5. flavored seltzers are nice and don't have sugar or caffeine.

pita chips and hummus are easy and good.

  7. I would serve fruit tray, veggie tray and chips with dip. It is a variety so people can pick what they like.

Wine is always a winner, you cannot go wrong with that.

    Have fun!

  8. fruit kabobs with a yogurt dipping sauce is always easy and light for get togethers like this, have fun!

  9. A fruit salad would be great  !  with some cheese  cubes  and

    crackers maybe some punch.

  10. I've been to parties like this and the biggest hit was margaritas. Whatever drinks you serve be sure to include straws ;)!

I would serve fingerfoods, maybe an arrangement of fresh fruit and crustless mini sandwiches since it would be after lunch.

Another idea would be tapas and sangria if you like to cook, you can find some recipes here

You could have some sort of punch, juice, or sparkling water for the children and guests who do not wish to drink.

  11. The fruit salad is a good idea.

    Some other ideas to add:

Veggies (carrots, grape tomatoes, cucumber, broccoli) and dip    Ranch dip- http://www.recipezaar.com/28324  I really liked this with veggies.

White bean dip with pita http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/recipes/...  (I really like this recipe.  I have served it to guests a few times and people seem to like it)

    Bruschetta - http://www.recipezaar.com/44232

finger sandwiches or cut up wraps

    Drink ideas:

white wine- Sauvignon Blanc or Sancerre

Lemonade- http://www.recipezaar.com/23038  I just made this two weeks ago for the first time.  My husband and I thought it was very good.  We are going to try and add some vodka to it as well for a real drink.

    margaritas

    Have fun!

  12. may-be a fruit punch ( no alcohol ) some little plastic throw away cups with some fruit in them and jelly set around the fruit. ribbon sandwiches little Frankie's and sauce

  13. A nice loaf of pumpernickel bread with spinach dip is always good; you can pair it with veggies & dip.  Maybe some wraps cut into quarters,  fruit salad is good too.  Bruschetta & mini toasts, maybe some mini parfaits for dessert (or mini cheesecakes).  Sounds cheesy, but mini cocktail franks always go.  Quiches, guacamole/salsa & tortillas, margaritas; it's not too early to serve a light wone or 2.  Maybe a variety of sushi, if you like it!  You may want to theme the food, as this is a broad spectrum of foods....

Oh, chocolate strawberries (champagne?) are great for dessert.
