  1. It's usually called "mushroom soil".

    But straight up cow manure with nothing added simply decomposes into a rich, black, loamy substance.

    You have to mix in sand, or dirt, or whatever, to actually make it "soil", but it works very well as a tilled in fertilizer.


  2. Actually it is more of a fertilizer than a soil.

  3. Cow manure or any other type of organic matter does not turn into soil. It turns into humus which will greatly improve any soil that it is applied to. But it is organic matter and will continue to break down. That is why it is necessary that you should continue to add organic matter to the soil each year. What determines if a soil is a sandy soil or a clay soil or loan soil depends  on the size of mineral particles making up the soil. But no matter the type of soil, organic matter will help soil texture, water holding capacity, aeration, etc.
