i don't have sound on my work computer - so i can't really listen to a sound clip in a link, but if it's the only way that it can be explained, i can wait til i get home on my regular computer.

  1. Here's a sound clip:

The first answer is correct.  They make a rapid "Purdy purdy purdy purdy purdy.   Say it really fast, and high pitched.

  2. They sing,

"purdy, purdy, purdy - chit chit"

The chit sound has a metallic clink to it.

The purdy sound is "pur DEE, purr DEE"

with the emphasis on the dee and the dee goes up significantly higher in pitch.
