Its by the back door of my house. I was crossing the deck to get to the door and I saw it and freaked out. Lol.

Spiders give me the creeps I can deal with snakes and stuff but not spiders. Its a lot bigger than the picture shows I wanted to show details.

I would say its 3.5-4 inches long and the body is about an inch wide.

Maybe.

Those are just guesses I didn't really sit there and measure the thing I was too busy trying to stay calm. Haha.

  1. lol sorry ive never seen it but it looks pretty big

  2. I feel that what you have is a common, everyday, garden spider, they kill and eat other incects.  My son saw the picture and concurres, he is a scientist.

They are, and can get, very "BIG".  But one shouldn't be afraid of them, but WOAH, you are speaking with one who is afraid of their shadow!  I can't tell ya' that you can touch it.  I would be afraid to myself.  Just the fact that it's a spider, automatically turns me completely "off"!  But my son swares that this is just the common, everyday garden variety spider, that just kills and eats other incects.  I've personally watched them do it, and it's really discusting!

  6. It a garden spider. Its harmless and fun to observe. Get close, very close and it will bounce up and down on its web, I bet.

I take it you're in Australia, or maybe you're looking at an escapee?
