sorry its kind of blurry. i stayed a respectfull distance because i wasn't sure what kind it was and figured it would be best to just leave it alone. good thing i'm not afraid of spiders because that was quite a surpise to find behind the tv.

I live in Australia but it looks like a common grass spider, or hoping spider. Probably wont hurt you but don't ask it for a dance or anything.

this is a common wolf spider. it's NOT a brown recluse. they're sometimes called house spiders, etc... they're big and nasty looking but they're not poisonous. they CAN, but rarely do bite. their bites cause a mild irritated area similar to a bee sting or a mosquito bite.  brown recluse spiders dont live in california

Not sure where you are, but looks like a brown recluse to me.. and very good thing it didnt bite you! Very nasty bites.

A few days ago there was a big nasty spider in my room.

I screamed, woke up my brother, and we went and slept in the living room, lol. I just started sleeping in there again.

I think its just a creepy looking one prolly not poisonous Ill show you a pic of a brown recluse please note the "fiddle" on its back,it doesn't have the right body to be one...if you live in us there are only I think 2 breeds of spiders that are poisonous and it surly isn't a black widow....its just a creepy looking one...

Take the picture to your local county extension office or maybe your local pest control extreminator type company and ask for postive ID>

If you have spiders aroudn that are harmful you want to know.  :)

Meanwhile a can of spray for killing spiders might come in handy!

a big scary gross one !!!!! srry i dont rly no spiders.       but if i were you i would of screamed , ran out of the house and i wouldnt go back in that room for maybe 2 weeks.  lol

Nursery web spider -I think....it is not a recluse..it would be hairy. Glad to see he/she is still alive. :)
