What kind of spider is this?!?

Question

I found this spider hanging out right outside the door of my third floor apartment. Can you help me identify it? I think it looks like the black and yellow garden spider.... but the location is all wrong, I'm not sure? can it be harming?

i don't know what a banana tree spider is, but i don't think that it is poisonous... i have seen many spiders like this before, and i think it's a garden or a wolf spider...

It's an orb weaver spider. They come in many different varieties. Their poison is not harmful to us and will do a good job keeping the bugs under control.

Bernardo is correct,it is some kind of orb weaver and it will not hurt you.I have many of them in my yard,and have even had one fall on my head and crawl down my face! I didn't panic as I didn't want to hurt the spider.I let her crawl onto my hand and put her on the ground. I love to watch them spin their webs;they spin a new one every night and they eat a lot of flies and other insects. It's not dangerous,believe me.Enjoy it!

its a banana tree spider or at least it looks like one. I'm not sure. but no matter what kind of spider it is. one that big with a all the like lines and stuff on it are poisonous if they have any type of design they are poisonous.

ew i don't like spiders. that one looks poisonous, i would stay away from it! Like the first person said, it looks like a banana tree spider.
