  1. That's NOT a spider.  It's called a Sun Spider, but is not a spider at all.  Notice the "three" main body parts?  Spiders have ONLY two.

It is related to scorpions, but is harmless.  They can nip a bit, but just "look" fearsome.  They feed on other small creatures like spiders, crickets, scorpions, grubs, caterpillars, beetles, etc.  Notice the two large, grasping, fang-like structures on the head.  These are very powerful and they use them to grab and tear the prey apart as they feed.  They run fast and can squeeze under rocks and other places because they are so flat and low to the ground.  They can get much larger than just one inch.  I've seen them up to 3" long.

They do the environment a lot of good and help keep our planet healthy and strong.

Sun Scorpions are wonderful creatures, and bring fascination and uniqness into our world.

  2. it looks like the wolf spider, they even carry their babies on their back...you will see them scatter when you step on the mom..they get really big...we have them here in idaho

  3. Looks like some type of ant. It has three segments as spiders only have 2.
