i dont have a picture, i was working at this house. picking up wood, tons of ply wood and 2x4's, so i killed the m**o. I live in southern California in the tehachapi mountains that seperate the mojave desert from Bakersfeild. I reserched and it was not a brown recluse. after research i learned that there are no brown recluses in CA. so at the bottom of this big pile of wood that has been there for a decade, i saw thi crazy look spider.it was like a brown, redish spider. it looked smooth, no hairs that were visisble. it lived under the last sheet of wood. I plan on movin into this house and my girl freind is terrified of spiders. and i just was wondering if it's a dangerous spider, or was "squish first and ask questions later". thanks for the help!

  1. It's a pity your "research" didn't include the beneficial aspects of spiders in the environment. Kill it first then try to work out if it's a problem. The American way. Your education system is abyssmal, ignorance reigns supreme.

  2. I googled this for you. I saw a two tone spider called the ant mimic spider.

  3. Possibly Dysdera crocata: http://spiders.entomology.wisc.edu/Dysde...

  4. Many people find spiders repulsive and scary, yet the majority of spiders are harmless and beneficial. Only four kinds of spiders are known to cause health problems in the U.S.

Spiders are far more beneficial than they are dangerous. The benefits we realize from spiders preying on insects, mites, and other spiders far outweigh the low potential health hazard to humans
