What kind of spoken genre "Interview" is?

Question

I would like to know if I want to plan a lesson about spoken genre, then what kind of genre the activity "interview" will be? Is it a genre of Exchange or a genre of transactional?

I think an interview would count as a "transactional text"  - you could get your students to compose role plays or act out various scenarios such as news report interviews, or job interviews.
