What kind of steak are lean?

i visited stop and shop yesterday and i was hoping forr labels on the steak packaging =[ i couldnt figure out what kind of steaks were leann !! helpp!!

  1. Sirloin is a lean steak. Just look at the steaks and you can tell. Rib eye and Tbone have lots of fat showing. Sirloin and strip steaks look lean without much fat showing.


  2. Filet mignon is about the leanest cut of meat there is. Best tasting too, in my opinion, but they can get quite expensive. Sirloin isn't bad either and much less expensive.

  3. Flank steak is pretty lean.  It's thick enough that you can butterfly it and pound it out pretty well.  Not to much marbling on it, so it should do you well.

  4. Serloin and New York Strip....new york strip's something else, a must try if you haven't already
