Question:

What kind of strep throat could this be?

I've had a horrible sore throat for a week, and this morning I woke up to find a bump had formed on the side of my throat, and when I swallow it is extremely painful.

I also have flushed cheeks and my chest is red, but that may be because I was outside all day yesterday. (Sunburn, hopefully)

Today I feel more drained of energy than I have in a very long time, and last night I had a bit of a fever.

This is freaking me out..

  1. I had something like that in my senior year of high school. Missed an entire week of school because of it.

I had my blood tested 4 times. Nothing came up. I was tested for mono and strep, as well as Scarlett Fever.

I eventually came to find out that I had Herpengina, which is an extreme case of strep throat. It's a viral infection...

I couldn't eat or drink anything. I had to crush up hydrocodones and drink them with a tablespoon of mountain dew just to be able to breath. I was in severe pain..

You could possibly have a similiar case. Its usually pretty rare.

Go to a doctor and tell them that you need blood work done. They can test you there for scarlett fever, herpengina, or Mono.

    Hope this helps! =)
