Question:

What kind of subwoofers can/should I hook up to my 1993 Ford Taurus?

My 93 Taurus needs some low end bass and my regular speakers just aren't cutting it. I have a Pioneer head unit installed along with Pioneer 6.5 inch 3-way front speakers and 6 x 8 inch 3-way rear speakers. The front speakers put out about 180 watts and the rears put out 220 watts. I need to know what kind of subwoofers my car can handle and where they can be placed. I know nothing about subwoofers so I am pretty confused. I'm considering Bazooka tubes because of their small size. Space is a bit of an issue but I am willing to give up some trunk space to make room for better sound. Are there others I should consider? Are there any I should avoid? What will work with my current set up? What should I do?

  1. The only powered subs worth buying are the Infinity Basslink or Basslink II and the Alpine L.A.T.  Great subs that deliver powerful bass and are designed to save trunk space.

  2. Do not get a bazooka tube those are so **** unless you like buying new speakers every few months , if you want something that will last and hit hard  as h**l thats small get a rockford Fosgate P2 or P3 10 Inch single in a box, that wont take up hardly any space and a rockford 10Inch p3 bang hard as h**l and will last a few years. Or you get a 10 inch solobaric stay away from bazooka, only mess with- Rockford fosgate, Audiobahn, Memphis, or Alpine a few other brands are ok but i have had tons of systems trust me just get a RF10 inch and a 400 watt mono amp that **** will Knock baby

  3. Jackhammers!

  4. just keep it simple with kickr 10's and a bandpass box, since your car is small. it will kick hard, but not sound so loud it's cheasy.
