  1. The same SPF you would use anywhere you are going to be out all day.  I burn easiy so I always use SPF 45 or higher....depends on your skintone and if you want and are able to get a tan.  Get waterproof.

  2. always atleast SPF 15. i would go with a sport sunscreen. i would also go with coppertone.

  3. well, maybe you should consider a biodegradable sunscreen. places like xcaret and xelha require that and won't let you use a regular one because it is not good for the reefs.

  4. It of course depends on how fair your skin is and how easily you burn, but always at least SPF 15. The sports sunscreen is great if you're going to be active, and waterproof is best if you are going to be lying on the beach. No matter what SPF you buy, your best defense is reapplying every few hours. I'd recommend SPF 30 or 45 in waterproof or sport.

  5. SPF 30

  6. Mexican sun will burn your teeth.

If you don't want a tan the a 15 will most defiantly protect you.

I used to use nothing for the first 15 minutes and then lather it on.

Depending on how long you are going to spend in the sun will affect the spf. For a couple hours a 4 will tan you up nicely.

If you are going to be on the beach all day then a 15 will still keep you "Whitey"

The first two days a critical when you are not used to the sun.

I spend the winters in Acapulco and rarely use spf and the first week I start with 15 min and increase that to one hour over the next week.  I havent had a painful burn in 20 years.

If you are in the dryer parts of Mexico you will need more skin cream .

Triple you water intake while you are there.

Try the morning sun first.  It gets very intense after noon.
