  1. long board, there easy to balance on, long and wide so its easy to catch smaller waves aswell


  2. A board thick and wide enough to float a beginner's weight and a rounded nose for easy paddling. Preferably 6 to 12 inches longer than the beginner's height. Speak with someone at a surf shop before you spend your money.

  3. A long board so you can keep your balance and ride the wave easier and stand up.
