What kind of symptoms would a bad CV Halfshaft produce on a rwd car?

seems like the drivers side is bad passenger side spins fine but when the car is on jackstands at idle the drivers side hardly spins at all what could be the issue here

  1. If you had a bad shaft you would hear a clicking noise and maybe some vibration.as for only one side spinning on jack stands you have a limited slip differential not positive traction.


  2. Are you hearing any noises while driving?

    BTW, many cars only spin one wheel when there is no traction ( as is the case when the car is lifted off of the ground ).  It doesn't mean anything is wrong.

  3. what happens when you drive it.  Does it have any metal grinding sounds.  What you're dealing with is the rear and the rear does different things than the front and you're making too many assumptions without finding out any facts.
