  1. Hi, well if you are working you will pay income tax, you will also pay GST on all items (which is 10%). As a family your expenses will be Rent (if you dont buy a house) petrol for your car, a car has rego and insurance. Your general living expenses like food, power, water. You may be intitled to government assistence but check this web site and it can give more info on that   www.centerlink.gov.au because there are government allowences. Once your a citerzen if thats what you want then your medical will be covered by medicare and if you get a health care card (low income) your doctors are free because medicare pay for it. Lets avarage it out, i pay $2400 per month on house (im buying not renting) (rent will vary depending on where you want to go $100 to $500 pw) My power bill is $350 every quarter (3 months) my water $110 every quarter, food is an average of $80 per week can be more. Petrol costs $250 per week because i am in a rural area not metro so i have further to travel and no public transport, i could go on a bit more  but really it depends on where you want to live and if you want to become a citerzen, but there is definalty government help for you either way with family payments, Good luck, hope i helped
