  1. Just go, it is a fantastic place. I only live twenty miles away and visit regularly. Alot of it is indoors but go on a good day, the grounds are lovely and any outdoor events are better in the sun ! It's worth the entrance fee of about £15 or like me you can buy a years pass which works out alot cheaper if you visit often. Have fun and don't miss The Mill House and Engine Room.

  2. There are quite a lot of things to do.  Warwick has a lot of reinactments that happen.  Last time we went they had  the storybook princesses.  We met Rapunzel and the Princess and the Frog, and several others and my nine year old daughter really loved it.  She bought a crown and joined in the festivities.  They had an area where you could shoot arrows from bows, and they had birds of prey on display which was actually quite impressive.

If you do go, I suggest very comfortable shoes.  And a small flashlight.  You can go down in the dungeon, which is very dark (and enclosed so don't go if claustrophobic!!) and you can see all kinds of etchings on the walls.  (We found birds and all kinds of different pictures but like I said it was very hard to see in the dark.)

The insides of the castle tell the story of different peoples who have visited including Winston Churchill and Queen Elizabeth II.  There are many stories associated with different objects found through out the castle, but some things do not have a card explaining them.

It is lucrative to purchase the book where you pay for the tickets, because it does help explain different aspects of the castle and grounds.

The film is a bit boring, and once more if you are claustrophobic I would not recommend it because the hallway before you go in is very enclosed and dark.

We enjoyed climbing the very narrow, steep and very dark five story tower, but I must warn you it will leave most breathless, so let others go ahead of you so you can take your time.

It is nestled on the River Avon which is very picturesque.

The gardens in front of the greenhouse has many peacocks which were beautiful and fun to watch.

Not far from Warwick is the beautiful medieval town called Stratford-Apon-Avon where you can tour William Shakespeare's birth place.  There are so many beautiful buildings, and we enjoyed rambling about.  I love taking pictures of things most take for granted and the carvings on the sides of some of the medieval buildings to me were breath taking.

Bring lunch or you can buy it at Warwick, then head over to Stratford.

The castle is a great place to visit, check the schedule to make sure it is open for the public and see if they have some type of fesitivies before you go.  They also have feasts which you can go to, but most are not for children.

There is also a ghost tour in Sir Guy's Tower.

All in all Warwick is well worth the money for a day visit.

  3. picnic and/or have open-air s*x
