  1. Start a recycling program if one doesn't already exist.

Create a club that does community service projects to benefit the environment.

  2. You could talk to your principal about creating recycling boxes for the classrooms for extra papers. One day after school, the people in your club could volunteer to pick up trash around the school and playground. And, if anyone drinks pop for lunch, you could make a spot to collect the cans for recycling!

  3. Start with the janitors they use the worst cleaning products so hazardous to your health. The products really will not cost much more.

Have recycling centers for the lunchrooms and have some type of fines for offenders. Encourage reusable plastic wear.

Make composts to fertilize the gardens you'll grow......encourage cultivation of fruits and vegetables for class and donate the foods to local shelters and kitchens.

Paper is a large cost for schools see what could be replace for example is it cheaper for the school to have throw away napkins or reusable cotton ones that can go through a service.

Seeing as soda is a no at school anyways, try and ban any water machines to get rid of plastic and sell school waterbottles with your green logo for a buck......

    Millions of ideas!

Just to add what ever happened to kids using chalkboards for scrap writing and only using paper for note keeping in a book that is kept neat and recycled after. My dad said they used them as kids they need to bring it back!

  4. Way to go for taking the initiative in something like this!  Talk to teachers and the janitors about turning off computers and classroom lights when they're not in use.  Do fund raising for (or just ask your school to pay for) and install low-energy light bulbs, aerated sink faucet heads (they help save water), and other energy savers.  Go around to classrooms and talk to students about recycling their old school papers.  You can also plant trees, shrubs, or flowers around your school grounds!

    Good luck!
