Question:

What kind of things should be on my meal plan?

My new health/finance goal has been to write up a weekly meal plan and grocery list, so I only buy the things I need, but still get good meals. I'm having difficulty figuring out what sort of things I should put on the meal plan, and end up going for frozen and canned food because I can't cook complicated stuff (visually impaired, and I'm not good at cooking).

Below I'll give my meal plan for this week. Basically, I want to make the most number of meals with the least number of ingredients, but still have a good variety of things, since I get bored easily with meals (I can't eat the same thing two days in a row, or I'll hate it).

I'm trying to cut down on grocery bills, eat healthier, and counteract the effects of the steriods I'm on (doctor prescribed for eyes, causing me to edge closer to size 10...I was almost down to a size 6 before).

  1. All those are great, and awesome on taking control of your health btw.

The one thing you might have trouble with is... the frozen lasagna. Practically any frozen food will have loads of unneccesary calories and fat because of the increased oil and preservative content that keeps those foods good for years... lol. Try making your own lasagna; it's really not that hard. Good Luck!

  2. keep stock handy. if you are buying , get the low-sodium ones. have soupy meals. put chicken and veg pieces in stock. let it come to a boil. 0 fat and power-packed.
