I would also like to know the best place to buy the equipment. The weapons of choice for reloading is a Ruger P38 (9mm x19) and a Glock (40 cal).

  1. First you will need a good press, then carbide dies for pistol, and good powder throw, loading blocks, powder scale.

For high production handgun loading Dillion Precision would be excellent with their carbide dies.  A complete unit has a powder throw built in and well as a primer feed.  You would them still need a scale to check charges and loading blocke to hold shells.

There are several other companies that make stellar equipment, RCBS, Hornady, Lyman, Redding

I personally like DNR sports in PA.  They have excellent prices but do not sell Dillon.  They are a wholesaler.

    have fun

  2. Before I give you a list for reloading equipment. Can I recommend a book first. Lyman's new 49th Edition Reloading Handbook is the latest version of their extremely popular rifle and pistol manual. http://www.lymanproducts.com/lymanproduc... available here or look for one on Amazon.com

It provides step by step instructions on reloading and lots of pictures and illustrations. Worth every penny!!!!

The 49th Edition covers all popular new rifle calibers such as the 204 Ruger, 6.8 Rem SPC, 325 WSM, 338 Federal, 375 Ruger, 405 Winchester and the WSSM series. In addition, new pistol calibers such as the 5.7x28mm, and 460 S&W are also included. A wide selection of powders are included covering Alliant, Accurate, Hodgdon, Ramshot, VihtaVuori, and Winchester. Additionally, most popular bullet brands are also used including Barnes, Hornady, Nosler, Sierra, Speer, and Swift. As always, full coverage is also given to Lyman cast bullets throughout the handbook.

This is the one handbook that should find a home on all reloading benches.

    Available Early July 2008
