  1. I'd recommend using your Switched source with a delay circuit. This way you don't need to worry about hitting a switch all the time. The amp will switch on just after the HU, which will get rid of the thump that you often get.



    Here's a diagram of a delay that should work for you.

    This is assuming you have a stock HU without a remote turn on. If you have an after market HU use the remote turn on lead.


  2. Any toggle switch will work. Mount the switch inline of the Remote wire; the wire that runs from the headunit to the amp. This wire carrys a very small current and just about any switch you buy will work just fine.

  3. You mean to switch power on and off to it?

    Try a standard 15A rated one. At 425W on 12 V., the peak instantaneous current is not excessive. Does the amp have a fuse? Check what current rating it has. Just in case.
