Question:

What kind of tool leaves their sat nav in the car?

I had forensic officers out examining my car last night (it was broken into on boxing day - rapid response time eh??)

They were telling me about how many people leave their sat nav's etc under the seat/ in the glove box!

They also gave me a tip (not that I have a sat nav!) not to even leave the cradle for a sat nav on show and if there are sucker marks on the window - remove them!

Honestly though would you leave your sat nav in the car??

  1. Just because YOU live in a high-crime area, don't pin that c**p on the rest of us.

My SatNav is sitting on my desk right now, but only because the truck I was using it in was recently sold. Before that, it was mounted on top of the instrument panel in plain view for over three years, and I never had a problem.  When my next truck is ready to go to work, I will put it back in the truck and leave it there.

  2. Since reading about all of the new crime concerning this issue, I have for the pass 6 months put mine the the glove box at night and during the day if I can not see my vehicle where it is parked.

  3. no its asking for trouble.!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. No way. I dont have one, but if i did i certainly wouldnt leave it in there.

  5. My friend leaves her under the drivers seat.  She's never used it coz she's so useless she can't figure it out.  Doesn't matter how many times you tell her it's unsafe, it's still sat there.  I wouldn't even leave a packet of tissues in the car in this day and age.

  6. I don't think to many people would leave them in car personally. Sounds like your local officers where reading way to much into this, they need to watch some more CSI.

  7. I leave my keys under the seat all the time and my purse in clear view since I was 16, I am now 35, I have never been robbed or my car has never been stolen-lucky I guess!!

  8. I just got my GPS and have removed it from my truck everytime I have been home. I also remove my satellite radio. This won't stop anyone from breaking into my truck but at least they won't steal those two items! As for home, the car is in the garage, the pickup doesn't have anything to steal in it, and my neighbor is a State Police Officer! Thieves that are too lazy to get a job and earn their money will steal anything they think they can sell. It is a shame we can't let our doors unlocked.

  9. I  agree and it is the same with radios. but once and only once I was distracted and forgot to remove my radio cover. (it happens ) and my car was broken into and it stollen.

  10. sad isn't it that this question has to be posted

why shouldn't people be able to leave their property in their own property

sad sad society we live in

(not having a go for you posting the q hun, just my rant against the low life's out there)

  11. yes i would, and i do. then again i have left crime ridden britain and no longer have to nail everything down, i do not even have to lock my car. peace.
