  3. it depends greatly on the vehicle being repaired is it Honda or bmw? What year ? What type of engine? For the mostpart you willneed a vast assortment of sockets and wrenches you will need a torque wrench a scrapper a new head gasket gasket sealer all the gaskets between the head and you .  Timing equipment like a timing light and a shop manual will help . Probably more but it depends on the car.  

  4. mr t left out the 10mm hex head socket used on most cars to loosen the head bolts

    but the first thing you always buy is the repair manual

    and call around to machine shops to see if they are booked out

    chances are your going to need to refinish a few parts

    you may need a valve spring compressor tool if the head is out of square

  5. breaker bar, sockets and ratchet, putty knife to clean the head and block, and a torque wrench.
