  1. Good question.

Pull back:  If you're talking about avoiding punches the way ALI did,  I would recommend perfecting blocking techniques.  Not everyone can do the things ALI did and got away with.  If you insist on using the "pull back" and you can do it successfully,  It would help to improve your overall balance.

With everything you do that requires good balance, the more parts of your body you condition the better.  That's why gymnists are usually the strongest, pound for pound, of all athletes.

Develop your abs.  this will help you with the pull back and to regain your balance.  It would help to be able to take a few punches as your mid-section will be exposed.  even if your hands are down, which they shouldn't be,  you still can't block or see punches coming to the mid-section if you're protecting your face in that way.

Uppercut:  Develop your legs.  Lower body strength will improve balance with will improve speed.  Shoulder and back strength is also a must.

Speed.  Shadow box and use light weights.  develope your shoulders and back.  Anything that will help improve balance will help you in these areas.

    Good luck
