I'm staying in San Jose del Cabo and wondering what are my options for transportation in getting between San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas. Really don't want to rent a car, but want to enjoy the nightlife in Cabo. How late to busses run? Is it better to take a cab back to hotel late at night? What is the cab fare between the two towns? Thanks!!

  1. Suburcabos (blue bus) and Interbaja (green bus) are the only public transportation between San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas, cost only $22 pesos ($2 USD), but run till 11 PM.

You can pick them up in front of MEGA Supermarket (walking distance from hotels in San Jose), and take them back at Puerto Paraiso Mall (across from Squid Roe).

Most Hotels have shuttle taxis, but again return at 10 PM.

After that, taxis are your only option, specially if you want to drink, and cost $35 bucks at daytime and about $50 at night, or more if they catch you drunk enough to charge you $100 USD

    Enjoy Cabo

  2. Hola!  When I first started living here, this was one of my dilemmas too.  You have many options.  The buses are frequent from SJD to CSL, easy to catch and cheap.  But you are right, they don't run late enough.  So you will need to take a taxi shuttle home.  They will probably charge you close to $50, but at least you are safe.  Sometimes at that time of night, they are willing to cut their price just to get the fare.  But on the other side, many will take advantage of your drunken funloving nature.  What hotel are you staying at?  They will often arrange transportation to CSL and may even have a shuttle.  I would check with them first.

Have a great time down here.  It is so much fun.

Oh buddy, I have to notice you that unfortunately, rent a car is the only way to enjoy de Cabo San Lucas nightlife because the busses stops at 11:00 O' clock or less and there's only one line of busses that are the Suburcabos and the Interbaja but is the same thing. Or you can take a taxi but the fare it depends to the taxi driver, they could cover you between 20 or 30 usd and depends too with de distance. Actually, rent a car is the best option. Oh, and I'm sorry for my grammar, I'm still studying english!! he he.
