Question:

What kind of tree do I have?

I don't have a picture, but I'm curious as to what kind of tree is in my front yard. I live in the Midwest and just recently moved into a new home. The tree I'm curious about was very late getting leaves this spring (we thought it was dead). It has pods that hang from the tree, the leaves look like branches of tiny little leaves that comprise one leaf (that's the best way I know to describe it), and it has flowers on it that look kind of hairy and are white at the base of the hairs and pink on the tips. The branches of the tree hang low, almost like a willow.

If anyone could help, I'd appreciate it! I don't know how to search for it online! :)

Below is a website that may help you.

The university of Missouri...there are many "Flowering Trees" you can look at on the website. Also another site is Morton Arboretum

    Hope this helps.

  2. Is your tree a Mimosa Tree, that is what it sounds like to me. Are the flowers fragrant?
