it is in Alberta Canada but probably not native as it was in a garden...

  1. From the appearance it may be a weeping willow tree. But chances of a bottle brush tree should also be considered,

    Some of the varieties have weak stem and the tree grows in a slow fashion spreading the branches downward in a drooping manner. The popular belief is that willows and some other trees do this as an adaptation to allow the snow fallen on the tree to run down faster to the ground and minimize the damage done by snowfall.

    But this is difficult to believe because then we have drooping Ashoka and weeping Benjaminas also.

  3. The detail of the leaves is not clear, but I think it is a weeping willow, grafted onto a standard willow trunk. It's a common practice with willows, and other drooping types.
