  1. I can tell you from experience that most wild turkeys do not perch in trees. Out here in texas there is a place called bellview outside of Bowie texas, you can go into the woods there and discover where they hide under thick bushes that grow giantly in the wood, large enough to get about 15 birds under 1 tree. They hear you coming and hide in the bushes and unless you know about these bushes you'd never know there were turkeys inside of them hiding. But if you disturb them you will be stampeded by all of them over powering you as they come right at you trying to escape!

  2. Jim Beam trees.

  3. Well, I lived in the northern states for many years, and it is not uncommon for turkeys to roost in a tree at night.  During the day, and if they are a female with young, they will be on the ground, but males roost in trees a lot of times at night. They will fly into trees for safety at night just as peacocks do.  They are not particular about the kind of tree.  Please read my profile.
