What kind of turtle?

i saw some turtles at the zoo that I would like to get for my pond but, I dont know what kind they are. they had brown shells that look like the shell of a pond turtle but there face and body was black with white stripes. what is it?

They might be musk or mud turtles or some exotic. Why don't you go back to the zoo and find out?

sounds alot like a painted turtle. It could also be a striped mud turtle.  check these links out maybe it is one of them. good luck.
