What kind of unusual coins do banks have?

Recently, I've been going to banks and asking for some of their more unusual coins. I've gotten an Eisenhower dollar, a bicentennial dollar, and a half dollar coin. What other coins do banks usually have? Thanks in advance.

  1. Ask them for some of the new Presidential dollars. Each has the head of a different president. The mint started issuing these last year. Rarely do you see these in change, so that makes them "unusual".

I have several pages on my web site about these... Start here:

  2. I work at a bank as a teller and I don't really get "unusual" stuff all that much. I mainly get half dollar coins and two-dollar bills.

  3. quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies

  4. Many countries have their own gold coins.  America has the golden eagle.  Here in NZ we've got some special issue gold and silver coins, which you can find out about if you google Postbank, which is where they're sold.
