What kind of video camera was used in Cloverfield?

I don't know what kind of camera he used in the premise of the movie, but according to Wikipedia, the movie was shot using a Sony CineAlta F23 high-definition video camera. However, this camera looks nothing like the camera he is handed at the beginning of the movie, so if your asking about what kind he is supposed to use plot-wise, I have no idea.
