What kind of video camera should i get?

I want to be able to edit what I film on the computer... is there a specific camera/software package that's good? Also what kind should I get... DVD, DV, etc.?

get a dv  or an hddv camera. DVD ones r pretty useless for editing cuz u have to rip it from the DVD and then convert it, which can be a drag. i recommend the Canon HV-20, I've heard a lot of good review about the camera. i currently have an Canon HG10, which is pretty much the same camera but it has a hard drive. the picture quality is excellent, the only problem is the format, which varies between HD cameras. but if you go DV, there shouldn't be a format problem.
