  1. Only 20 - 40 grams of protein a day is recommended, and you can easily get that by eating a variety of foods. Meat, milk, or any animal byproduct are not the only sources of protein like society has led you to believe. Protein is found in all foods except oils. If you keep yourself open to a variety of foods, you never will have to worry about "getting enough protein".

Besides, something I'm sure the meat and dairy industry, as well as the head leaders of the fancy protein powders and shakes would not want you to know, vegetable/plant based protein is bar far the best and easiest to use by the body. It has been found animal protein is acutally harmful and takes tremendous amounts of work by the digestive system just to be able to break down into a usable form. By cooking or pastuerizing it you are doing even more damage. When you heat food, you kill the valuable food enzymes your body relies on to digest it. Which then means it has to take from its own valuable source (which in most cases is already depleted) just to break it down and get it through the body. Vegetables or other plant foods have all the enzymes you could ever need in them (unless you cook them) and supply you with all the necessary minerals you needs to stay healthy. They also  require very little effort to digest and utilize.

  2. Vitamins are not protein I'm afraid. And if I think I get what you're getting at, you shouldn't need to get protein through supplements, powders or the like.

A varied diet with plenty of different plant foods: grains, vegetables, fruits and legumes, and sufficient calories, will make sure you get all the protein you need. Even if you're an athlete.

  3. Vitamins don't have protein.  They have vitamins.  Pretty much all food has protein so that's how you get it.  I get most of mine from whole grains, veggies, nuts, soy products etc.  Beans are an excellent source of protein too.

  4. you don't need vitamins. just eat other protein sources.  google veg recipes and nutrition info.  protein is in veggies and grains as well as beans, nuts, tofu, soy milk, cheese, veggie burgers, etc.  most people don't need as much protein as they think they do and are gettign too much anyway. so find out how much you really need first.  eat a variety of the things above and you don't need a vitamin.

  5. As mentioned, vitamins won't help much as they just contain vitamins, no protein.

As long as you eat an adequate amount of calories, protein intake is usually not a problem for vegetarians/vegans.

Beans, nuts, legumes, grains, tofu and more are all fantastic sources of protein.

  6. Vitamins and protein are two completely different things.  Vitamins don't have protein - they have vitamins.

It's very doubtful that you need any sort of protein supplement.  Unless you're failing to take in enough calories to meet your energy needs (i.e. you're starving,) or you're trying to live on  junk food, you are getting enough protein in your diet.

Vegetarian protein sources include soybeans and soy foods (tofu, tempeh, edamame, soy milk, fake meats,) beans and other legumes (lentils, peas, peanuts, peanut butter, chickpeas,) whole grains, nuts, seeds, vegetables (especially dark green ones,) dairy products and eggs.

If you are eating a balanced diet and including all of the vegetarian food groups, you're getting enough protein.  Protein deficiency is all but unheard of in the developed world.
