What kind of volunteering should I do?

I'm in the Carmel/Indianapolis area. I'm not very socialable but I'm looking for something to volunteer for soon that can look good on a job resume. I'm 24/f. What would be a good volunteer oppurtunity for someone in my position? Thanx.

what kind of position do you have?  that would help in knowing where and what you should volunteer for.

There are lots of agencies in Indianapolis that I'm sure would love to have volunteers working with them.  Are you in college?  The colleges usually list TONS of volunteer opportunities available to students through various groups/agencies, etc.  You might try looking through some of the area college websites for volunteer info.  Here are some websites I found that also have information on various volunteer opportunities:

I used to do volunteer work in college and I loved it.  Hope this helps.

Start at any hospital emergency room.  Work with small children coming in. Most hospital need someone to play with the child until a Doctor can see them when there is a back-log.  

The parent is too upset to do a good job of getting the childs mind off the pain it's feeling.

Personally, I like volunteering with a rescue or animal shelter. The dogs don't care how sociable you are, it's easier to talk to someone when you have a leash in your hand, and people will actually tell your their life story once they find out you're a dog person. LOL!
