What kind of web design program made youtube, yahoo and other pro websites?

Im building a web page and it just doesnt look proffesional. What kind of software is used to make youtube? html css or what?

It isn't done with any single program, in fact, these sites are done by hand in text-editors by some serious programmers. Programs such as Dreamweaver aren't robust enough to handle the needs of big sites like Yahoo and YouTube. My personal favorite is TextMate for Mac. IMHO, the PC lacks any really good polished editors. I always start by designing in Photoshop then building it in TextMate.

well css is just eye candy. all the information contained in a website comes from the html code. css lays on top of the HTML and looks very pleasing (if designed in such a way). Same goes for PHP and other scripts. As for software designing 'pro' websites I would look into dreamweaver by adobe. very user friendly and has a graphical interface to help generate some html code. if you look at youtube you'll notice it is loaded with flash. flash is also by adobe (bought from macromedia). if you have flash you'll notice it looks mainly for animation and cartoons (if you will). But within flash is action scripting. you can write scripts in here that will do whatever it is you need with flash and then port that to dreamweaver and then to your website. If you right click on the animated pieces of youtube or an actual video thats playing you'll see that it says about adobe flash player X...
