What kind of wild cat has white paws?

we saw a large cat in our backyard. we thought it was a bobcat, but it had the face of a tiger. it was light brown and had white paws. it was in between the size of a golden retriever and a large house cat.

maybe a small cougar or mountain lion as they are called.

Sounds more like a bobcat to me. Here is a link if you need to see a pic of one. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bobcat It's also possible it might be a lynx. Both bobcats and lynx's are the size you describe but the white paws aren't typical for them. I do know both breeds have different coat colors for winter so that might have something do do with the white paws.
