What kind of wine goes.....?

How will they be prepared? Grilled, steamed, with a cream sauce? Different methods dictate slightly different wines.

Lobster and shrimp have an underlying sweetness that you don't want to overpower. Alamos Chardonnay will pair really well, and a Ecco Domani Chardonnay/Pinot Grigio blend would be a nice choice, a blend between crisp and citrus.

But certainly, something as decadent as lobster screams for a sparkling wine, or prosecco. Lunetta prosecco would be beautiful, as well as Segura Viudas Brut Reserva- a balance between sweet and dry.

Sounds like a nice dinner. What time should I come over. What kind of wines do you like?

I'll bring a French White Burgundy ≈ a Chardonnay might be a little heavy handed. If there are LARGE lobsters I'll bring a Mersault or Montrechet, expensive and lovely. You don't want a cheap wine with such a dinner!

My advice :: go to a local liquor/wine store that has a good selection and ask! They'll match food with your taste in wines and pocket. They have a vested interest!

I agree. White wine is best with seafood. Personally, I like Jackson Triggs - it's dry enough and doesn't have a weird aftertaste.

I would suggest a nice Chardonnay.  Simi and Franciscan are both nice but if you really want to go big try Cakebread Chardonnay.  A nice bottle of Champagne goees great with lobster as well.  Try White Star or J.B. Michael Brut.

Definitely a dry white.  Which varietal?  That depens upon what you prefer.  My wife, being from Maine, is an asbolute lobster snob.  She likes a sauvignon blanc with lobster, and I agree.  If you can find Sterling brand sauvignon blanc where you live, I highly recommend it.
