  1. It depends on the beach. In Guanacaste there are some very touristy beaches such as Tamarindo and Tambor. There are also some surfer type beaches that are a little harder to get to. If you go to Jaco, which is closest to San Jose (and not one of the better beaches) you'll see a mix of tourists and locals. Both the tourists and locals tend to be younger except at the most expensive resorts. P. S., if you go to Jaco, you'll meet lots of single women. But they may want money in exchange for their 'company.'

  2. costa rican women and the other women that go to the beaches in costa rico.

  3. UUMMMMMMM...I'm going to go out on a limb here & say it's a fair chance that you will encounter Costa Rican Women

  4. All of the above... but it depends on where you go.

The tourist towns have a lot of tourist's on the beach.

In many other places, the beaches are fairly desolate... and many beaches are rocky. It just depends on where you go.

And there are, of course, my favorite, Surfer Chicks. :)

  5. mainly single tourists

  6. You'll probably encounter a few Costa Ricans.

  7. hmmm...tourists mostly, i dont no about singles tho, i did see some single girls traveling together but most of the tourists were couples.

  8. I'm going to have to go with... Costa Ricans

All of the above and probably a bunch of them that want nothing to do with you.

  9. you will find women from Costa Rica, travelers from different parts of the world- mostly in hostels though.  If you go out at night  in Tamarindo or Jaco you will see a healthy mix of locals and tourists but as the previous poster mentioned watch out for women that come on strong, they have other motives.

  10. The answer to this question depends A LOT on the beach you go to.

  11. In most popular beach areas there are women from all over the world. As a destination we have become very popular with young people so there is always a mix of north americans europeans, Costa Ricans and other latinas on most all beaches.

On the caribean coast I think there are more europeans in general, and on the Pacific more north American visitors, but it depends on the time of year.

It has become extremely common for young people to come and study spanish here in Costa Rica. There are many nights at certain places where the audience for things like live music are mostly language students, but a lot of them are not on a beach during the weekdays as they are busy learning to speak spanish. Weekends are likely diffferent.

Prostitution is legal here, and you may find that in places like discos that the pros outnumber the amateurs. Especially in places like Jaco as was mentioned various times. Also , of course, in downtown San Jose there are brothels and the like.

If you are tempted to use the services of a prostitute, do it in a brothel, otherwise you can robbed or otherwise harrassed.

Also every prostitute in Costa Rica has a sick child and a dying mother...People complain about the manipulative nature of the business, they do tend to use sob stories to get more money out of you!

    Play safe here.

  12. A whole buffet!
