The term "Information Technology" is a bit broad.. what exactly do you do? I think I might be interested in it, but I'm not sure. Could someone with experience in IT explain just what they do? TIA

  1. There are lots of jobs you can do in IT. To be more specific, there are different sectors and branches in IT which you can choose from, starting from University.

The jobs that you get in the IT field depends on what kinds of areas you specialize in (software, hardware, system management, eBusiness etc.)

For example, someone who picks PHP, SQL and Databases Systems as their class choices might be interested in being a Database Manager (e.g Works in big companies managing their information).

Another person who specializes in C++ and Java might be looking for a job that deals with Web Applications.

People who are interested in a business-type sector of IT (such as an Information Systems manager) may IT with a combined B.B.A degree.
