I'm looking for a new set of tires for my 03 tacoma 4x4.. I would kinda like to find a set that makes a bit more road noise then other normal tires..What kinda tread pattern should i be looking for? Maybe a few tire brands would be helpful as well.. I was thinking the open country MT would be a good maybe? Thanks for any help :)

  1. BF Goodrich Mud Terrains!!

  2. as was mentioned, any mud-terrain tire will make nose as will many all-terrain and trail treads.  Along with the noise you will get increased cost as well as less fuel mileage and tire life so unless you need the tread, I'd stick to a good highway tire..

  3. Any big lug tire for mud,

  4. any tire with deep lugs that are spaced wider apart will make more noise

  5. why would you want more road noise?

  6. Tire with the LOUDEST road noise: Super Swamper Boggers = super loud and will last approximately 13 - 18,000 miles

Tire with loud noise: Super Swamper TSL = very loud and lasts around 15 - 23,000 miles if you're lucky.

Tires with lower noise but still loud; see the following:

    BFGoodrich - Mud Terrain

    Goodyear - Wrangler

Dunlop - Mud Rover (this tire is what's on my truck; I wish they were just a little louder.  They are the best buy that I've found at $160 a piece for a 35x12.50x16.  Check tirerack.com.

d**k Cepek - Fun Country II

    Mickey Thompson - Claw

I could write you a list a mile long, but you said "maybe a few tire brands".  Keep in mind, whatever mud tire or all terrain tire you buy will become louder as they wear.  Good luck fellow tire noise lover.
