What kinds of ID can you provide in order to fly a commercial airline?

lost drivers license and have no time to renew. have expired id will this work? what other forms of id do the airlines except?

  1. Same thing happened to me. Actually I left mine at home on accident... OOPS! Anywho... I used my college ID to check in.  At the security checkpoint I used my college ID again along with my social security card and my debit card... worked for me no problems


  2. government issued photo ID only. it's not the airline that requires this it's the TSA and they don't care if you're going to miss your flight because you don't have one. but sometimes they'll let it slide with extra security screening.

  3. All you need is any government-issued photo ID.  If you don't have any of that you need to go to the ticket/checkin counter of whatever airline you are flying and have them mark your boarding pass for extra screening.  The TSA will send you through extra screening at the security checkpoint.  Not a big deal though; it happens all day long.  The trick is that you have to let the airline know when you get your boarding pass or check luggage.

  4. Passport if you have one, other than that good luck.
