  1. If your looking for services they do change from state to state but, I know that some laws have changed recently. In my state you can not get section 8(which I think  is federal) if you are a felon. I do not know how far that these new laws go but, they are getting tough. The best thing to do is to look in the phone book for human services and call them. It may also depend on your crime. For some reason, I am thinking the section 8 has to do with drug offenses. But, do not take my word. Always double check answers this important to your life with the right agency. Good Luck. Usually it is the offenders that are starting out again that need the help. Go figure.

  2. They differ in every state. The parole office should have the info. One that is good that I think is every where is the mormon church services.

  3. When you say "social work services" do you mean the services of a social worker or are you referring to social services in general?

Social workers will work with criminal offenders in many ways as parole officers, addictions, domestic violence, forensic social work, mental health work, halfway and transitional living, public assistance, child welfare, psychotherapy, and much more.
