Question:

What kinds of amino acids should i combine with weight lifting?

I also need to know how much and how often and when in relation to workouts.

  1. I currently take an amino acid supplement while working out.  It is called Xtend and is marketed by Scivation.  I get it at www.bodybuilding.com.  

    If you are looking for something to use, give it a try.  But I don't believe there is a supplement out there that will give you tremendous results.

    Hard work, proper eating, and rest make the biggest results.


  2. Amino Acids are the main building blocks of protein. So to get complete amino acids, a lean chicken breast does the trick.

    A whey protein shake does as well.

    However, if you are looking to add extra amino acids, you can indeed buy them separate.

    I take L-Glutamine and sometimes a 2222 Amino Acid tab from Optimum Nutrition.

    These supplement usually come with instructions.

    For example, the Glutamine that I buy is meant for 4x a day...one before and after bed time, and one before and after working out.
