I have two pairs (both Urban Outfitters). One is from We Who See, grey suede, flat, wide-ish  opening, almond toe, and they are convert-able; folded down to the ankle, there is a tab that snaps into place over the fold to the ankle. They hit a few inches above the ankle in this form. Then, you can unfold them, snap the tab about an inch over the top, and they hit low-mid-calf.

The second pair is Charles Albert, black, leather, wide round toe, and snaps closed. They are close fitting and hit above the ankle. The snaps look like black buttons that go from the foot up the outside of the ankle.

I want a good pair of equestrian style boots next, but they cost $200-300 on average.

Ugg's are just that...UGly.

I have riding boots that are so hot! But not anyone can pull them off, also I just ordered these high-heeled leather ankle boots that are really nice. Steve Madden, Gucci, Guess have really nice boots. But Christian Louboutin makes THE BEST boots, shoes rather; in general.
