What kinds of clothing are appropriate to wear on a day long bus trip during the summer? Should I wear sweats?

I don't know whether to wear sweats or just a jacket... please help! Also... does anybody know what else I should pack in a carry on bag to take on the bus? Should I take snacks... activities..ect.?

Wear layers!!! Yes, take snacks and things to do. Take water or something to drink, maybe an ipod or some cards or something.
