What kinds of equipment and raw materials would be needed to construct a hydrogen fusion plant?

The nuclear fusion of hydrogen atoms is one of the most promising alternative energy technologies to pursue. If mankind is able to capably harness the fusion power of a hydrogen atom, our energy problem would be effectively solved.

What would it take in terms of equipment and raw materials? Estimated cost in US dollars? Time to construct and implement a working reactor?

No body was able to make a controlled fusion reaction till now. A device called Toakomak.(?) was tried by enclosing the huge temperature of millions of deg c by high powermagnets.

But it can sustain the fusion only for few seconds not contnuosly.In china they are tryiong the EAST  Experimental advanced super conducting Toakmak Get information from them!
