  1. 1 fish per gallon is the general rule.

So - get a female beta.

Or you could get a sucker fish or pleco. They are the algae eater fish.

    Good luck!

  2. well you don't really have many option the snails would probably be the best. Some shrimp might work but the betta could eat them.

The gold fish are cold water fish and need more than 10 gallons they are very messy fish and any small fish you could put in there like tetras or cory's need to schoal and 2 gallons is not enough room.

Sorry if this sounded kind of harsh but it was good of you to get your lucky betta in a tank instead of  the cups in the pet stores.

  3. get another male betta it will be fun. Naw Bettas are pretty good with other fish, Try a goldfish at first to see how that works.

  4. You can't put other fish with a Beta...they are solitary...Anything you put in is at risk of being eaten by the Beta.  Highly aggressive species.

  5. Well you can only have 1 betta fish in the tank. Otherwise they will attack eachother. So no matter how big the tank is you can only have one betta.

  6. don't get any fish-- try putting like a catfish or snail in there. that way they can't really fight. beta fish are really pretty but very harmful some times. good luck!

*also if you do decide getting a fish, try getting a bigger fish than your beta-- like a large gold fish or small shark.*

  7. A 2 gallon is the minimum tank size for a Betta, and you can only add a few snails and/or shrimp in there is you wish. But no other fish in that tank with the Betta.

    E-mail me for any questions!

  8. 1 female beta, but good luck, the male will kill the female if it is not during the right season. Male betas are one of the most aggressive breeds of fish you can obtain. Placing other fish with a beta is a bad idea, and will almost always result in a fight to the death.

  9. A guppy or two would be nice but your tank may be a little small, i would recomend a 4-5 gallon tank if you want anymore fish
