Little Miss Muffet sat on her tuffet, eating her "Curds & Whey", Along came a spider and sat down beside her, and frightened Miss Muffet away.....I am just so curious as to what type of food {curds and whey} could be and maybe what country would Miss Muffet be served this food?

  1. This is what happens when they make cheese. The milk solids are called curds and the liquid that is left over is called whey. They usually throw out the whey nowadays but way way back then both were eaten together.

    Whey!! No whey dude!!!

  2. http://www.alphabet-soup.net/goose/curd....

  3. From what I remember, "curds and whey" are the by-products of heated milk. Like the foam and the like

  4. Curds are heated milk, whey is a wheat product.  Think cream of wheat.

  5. It is best described as cottage cheese. The nursery rhyme is English. It is the separtion of the cheese like substance(curd) and the clear milky liquid(whey).        I make my own cheese and yougurt.
